But, does your TV support the Bluetooth connectivity? That would be the essential element to be able to connect your headphones to your TV. Well, there are several options you would be able to use to connect your wireless headphones with your TV. In fact, the options should work effectively regardless of the TV you have. In fact, you should be able to work with them even with the TVs that do not come with Bluetooth connectivity options.

# 1 Using the Built in Bluetooth

The first and foremost option you can use for connecting your wireless headphones to your TV would be to use the Bluetooth connectivity option. Most of the LED and smart TVs come with the functionality to use connect wirelessly through Bluetooth. 

In many cases, the Bluetooth connectivity option may be hidden and you may need to use the service manual or get help from service technician to address it. Once you are able to find the Bluetooth functionality, pair your wireless headphones with your TV and enjoy the wireless service with ease. 

#2 Use Bluetooth Audio transmitter

In case your TV does not come with a Bluetooth functionality, you should be able to add it through the use of an additional tool. Known as Bluetooth Audio Transmitter, the device can be plugged into the 3.5 mm audio jack on your TV. The device will add the Bluetooth functionality to your TV.

You should be able to get the Bluetooth audio transmitter for as low as $5. However, we would advise you against opting for the lower priced options. One of the major factors you would need to consider would be to check out the latency for the audio signal. 

#3 RF Wireless headphones

Well, if your TV does not support Bluetooth, you can consider checking out the options for the RF wireless functionality. These work in a similar manner as the Bluetooth audio transmitters we just explained.

The RF wireless headphones come with an RF transmitter that can be connected to the audio output jack on your TV. The transmitter sends the audio to the headphone through the use of radio frequency.

One of the best features that would make it an excellent option is the excellent range that you would get. The RF headphones offer a range of about 300 feet. You would also get them quite at a cheaper price.

However, RF headphones suffer interference from the similar radio frequency. Some of the devices that can cause interference to include cordless phones, microwaves and other RF devices.

#4 Use InfraRed Enabled Headphones

Almost all TVs come with Infrared functionality that works with your remote. However, to access the audio signals on Infrared headphones, you would need to have access to the transmitter just the way we used the transmitters for Bluetooth and RF headphones.

Once again, the Infrared transmitter will plug into your audio output jack on your TV and transmit the signals to your headphones through the use of infrared communication. However, do note that your headphones may or may not come with an infrared transmitter. If your headphone does not come with a transmitter, you may need to buy it separately. 

The advantages associated with the infrared headphones would be the fact that they do not face any sort of interference in sharp contrast to the RF transmitters.

However, the presence of any impediment between the transmitter and headphones may cause issues of reception. That would make it impossible to move into another room without losing the connectivity.

However, opting for infrared headphones will offer you the best audio quality possible and does not suffer from any sort of latency issues.

Yet another advantage that we loved with the option of infrared connectivity is the fact that a single transmitter can simultaneously be connected with multiple headphones. You can easily find a good quality infrared headphone at around $ 50. 

The Interference Issues with the Headphones

The Bluetooth headphones, or for that matter, any Bluetooth device theoretically provides you with a range of up to 328 feet. But, a host of interference issues can create havoc with the kind of reception you would be receiving on your headphones.

Infrared headphones are known to have the best latency performances and clear reception performances. But, they suffer from the interference nevertheless. In any case, you can opt for a few means to take care of the interference issues. 

In case you are experiencing issues with the range limitations and other issues with respect to the connectivity options, you can follow a few options to take care of it.

One of the most important factors that may affect your reception would be the interference from other wireless technology signals. Some of the reasons that can cause issues would be microwave ovens, WiFi Routers, satellite services and speakers.

You can make your WiFi routers work at 5 GHz instead of 2.4 GHz so that your Bluetooth signals will stand separated from the WiFi signals. Metal and concrete walls can also act as a deterrent to the Bluetooth connectivity.
